Today started off with overcast skies. We saw some precipitation scattered throughout the area. As those clouds cleared out we saw temperatures raise into the 50's for most of the day. Some cumulous clouds rolled into the area as the afternoon progressed and again pushed out as the sun burned them up right before night.
You can see that the midwest is in a high pressure system. It is also carrying a cold front along with it. The high pressure system is carrying wind in a clockwise direction with the center of it on the southern part of Minnesota. We can expect these winds to remain the same as this high pressure system moves to the west.
This is a picture of the current wind direction. You can see the stationary front pictured above that is over the Dakota's. You can leo see that much of the wind coming into Wisconsin is coming from the west northwest.
